Mangwana
Mangwana APS is an Italian non-profit organization dedicated to promoting social solidarity, in Italy and Africa. Its founding principles are peace, democracy and equality. In Africa, it works with local communities to promote their economic autonomy through microcredit, the transfer of skills and support for entrepreneurial initiatives. Mangwana is actively engaged in the defense of human rights, with particular attention to women children, disabled people and people in conditions of extreme poverty. It promotes awareness on issues such as the environment, interculture and human rights. Mangwana also organizes introductory sailing courses for people with disabilities and for secondary school students.
The Baldeneysee Rowing Club (RaB)
The Baldeneysee Rowing Club (RaB) is Essen’s largest rowing club with 500 members, affiliated with German and North Rhine-Westphalian Rowing Associations. RaB offers recreational and competitive rowing for all ages, sailing, and beginner courses. Its youth council and excursions promote engagement. RaB prioritizes sustainability and health, with activities like Ruhr Clean-up and cycling challenges. Members, aged 6-101, include schoolchildren, adults, competitive athletes, and those with impairments. Collaborations with schools and events for refugees highlight inclusivity. Hosting regattas and international cultural trips, RaB fosters lifelong learning and global connections in rowing.
The Canyoning Association of Slovenia (SOZS)
The Canyoning Association of Slovenia (SOZS), founded in 2004, is a leading organization in the field of professional canyoning guide training in Slovenia and Europe. It is specialized in providing top-tier education for canyoning guides, ensuring they are equipped with the highest safety and technical standards. It works closely with local communities, municipalities, and Triglav National Park (TNP) to promote sustainable, environmentally responsible practices while preserving Slovenia’s natural beauty. Their key areas of work include professional training and certification, safety standard development, environmental conservation, and fostering a vibrant canyoning community through courses, workshops and events.
REVEAL
REVEAL is the European Educational Network for Competence Oriented Learning and Validation. It has been developed since 2005 and currently consists of institutions and individuals from 27 European Member States, including universities, European umbrella organisations, educational institutions, schools, vocational training institutions and various Nongovernmental organisations from different sectors. REVEAL offers innovative learning and development projects that are based on competence-based learning and validation approach, which is based on the LEVEL5 ® Taxonomy and validation approach REVEAL’s offers aim at promoting and facilitating practical and needs driven learning projects and competence developments in different non-formal and informal contexts.
The Polytechnic of Leiria
The Polytechnic of Leiria is a modern public Higher Education Institution active in education, research and innovative services to society, has 5 faculties and more than 13000 students.
Within the Polytechnic of Leiria, the Superior School of Tourism and Maritime Technology, in Peniche relates to sustainability in tourism and within the ocean. With a close relation to the school, there are several surf clubs and diving companies that offer ocean sport experiences, like surf and stand-up paddle, or diving and snorkelling in the nearby Berlengas island biosphere reserve. Students also organise several sustainability and sport related events in the seashore. The school has a strong commitment for sustainability in the ocean.
