Vela Mare SRL Sportiva Dilettantistica is a non-profit sailing school dedicated to organizing environmentally-focused regattas and educational activities, promoting social inclusion and sustainable practices. Through initiatives like the Cetacean Regatta and Blue Weeks for children, the organization fosters respect for nature and healthy lifestyles among participants.
Circolo Vela Toscana organizes socio-environmental activities aimed at improving sea quality by removing plastic waste and raising awareness about marine pollution. Through educational initiatives and expert talks, they promote sustainable practices and encourage a plastic-free approach to protect the marine ecosystem.
SUSTAIN-A-WAVE Community Action Fund
The SUSTAIN-A-WAVE partnership, in cooperation with the REVEAL Association, invites local initiatives to apply for support for small-scale projects that connect water sports, Education for Sustainable Development, and community action.
Background: Reveal, founded in 1980 and restructured in 2017, promotes informal learning and development across Europe. With the motto “…because learning happens everywhere!”, Reveal supports non-formal learning for personal, professional, and community development, grounded in humanistic values and holistic learning. Since 2021, Reveal has supported local arts and culture projects that promote sustainable development aligned with the SDGs.
How to apply?
- Develop your idea: Make sure your initiative connects water sports, environmental sustainability, and learning or community engagement.
- Prepare a short proposal: Describe your project idea, target group, objectives, planned activities, expected results, and how the initiative supports sustainable water sport practice. The proposal should not exceed three pages.
- Define your funding request: Applicants may request between €200 and €5,000. The requested amount should be clearly linked to the planned activities and expected impact. Co-funding can cover between 75% and 90% of eligible costs.
- Submit your application: Send your proposal and funding request to Silas Wiemann at silaswiemann [at] blinc-eu [dot] org.
- Evaluation of proposals: Applications will be reviewed according to their originality, relevance to SUSTAIN-A-WAVE, sustainability impact, community benefit, feasibility, and overall quality.
